About Sugar Bee Bath

I love handmade soap! My first experience with a handmade bar was a lemon poppyseed bar made with hemp and coconut oil, purchased from Isabella's, a local store in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. I fell in love instantly! There was a simple luxury about the smooth, creamy feeling on my skin, and it made me feel great. I definitely loved showering when I was using that soap.

Once that was used up and I went back to my Dove soap, I realized that the dry skin I have always been experiencing had subsided only to come back when using commercial bars. I didn't realize I considered that feeling "normal" until it wasn't normal. I was also spending a lot of money on extra lotions, loofahs, and exfoliating creams trying to combat it.

After doing some research and concluding that I could be reacting to the synthetic detergents in commercial soaps, I decided to take the plunge and make my own cold process soap to try out. It was very lightly scented with peppermint oil, and it was a success! Within a few weeks my skin was back to its softer self.

I decided to start up Sugar Bee Bath so that everyone can enjoy the same feeling of 100% handmade cold-process soap.  Sugar Bee soap is made from a few simple ingredients: a proprietary blend of oils, lye, and various essential/fragrance oils.
